Comfortable accommodation in walking distance of Oban’s town centre with it’s variety of restaurants, transport links and local attractions. This picturesque seaside town of Oban at the West Coast of Scotland is known for it’s history, seafood and proximity of Scotland’s Islands.

About 'Braemar'

This beautiful house, built in the late 1910s, offers a spacious lounge, modern kitchen-dining area and three comfortable bedrooms with original features and magnificent views over the bay of Oban with the Isle of Kerrera and Mull on the horizon.

Through the red storm doors the bright yet cosy lounge, to the right of the front door has a comfortable corner sofa, small desk, variety of book, games and DVDs as well as a smart TV and ornamental fireplace. The dining room on the left of the front door comprises of a dining table and chairs for 4-6 people. A small sofa in the alcove offers a comfortable place to read, chat or sleep and enjoy the warmth of the wood burner. The kitchen dining area, which was refurbished in 2023 offers a bright contemporary space with large sink, a four ring hob and oven, slim line dishwasher as well as a large fridge/ freezer. A washing machine is situated in the utility area at the back of the property with a backdoor to the garden.

The stairs lead up to the first landing where the family bathroom with shower over the bath, toilet and wash basin is situated. A door leads to the upper garden.

At the top of the stairs the Master bedroom offers a comfortable double bed, dressing table and a built in wardrobe with storage and the small en-suite with large shower, wash basin and toilet. The single room has a single bed and chest of drawers and the recently refurbished second bedroom has a double bed, a chest of drawers as well as a comfortable armchair which doubles as a put down bed.

All rooms face the beautiful views over Oban Bay, the marina, and the isles beyond.

The small garden to the left of the property catches the afternoon sun making it a perfect area to enjoy a drink or dinner outside. The second garden and viewing platform is accessible via steps to the rear of the property or via the door on the landing and is located on the old ‘laundry lawns’ above the rooftops. From here your can enjoy panoramic views over the whole of Oban; a perfect backdrop for a some cheese and wine or just watching the sunset.

The house has it’s own private car parking space for two cars right outside the house.

The house enjoys consistent hot water, gas central heating, smart TV and fast internet. Even a pay phone is provided for those that don’t want to use their mobile phones abroad.

The Neighbourhood

Oban is a lovely little seaside town with all the essentials nearby. Plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and local attractions such as the OBAN distillery, McCaig’s Tower, Dunollie Castle and Museum and Ganavan Beach. Just down the road are two fantastic play parks for varying ages as well as the bowling green, a sports centre with tennis courts, sauna, swimming pool and a soft play area for the rainy days and a small cinema.

If you are looking to explore your adventurous side why not try a spot of diving, kayaking, sailing, horse riding and even skiing ( at Glencoe or Ben Nevis).

Getting Around

As ‘Gateway to the isles’ there are ferries to a variety of different Islands – such as Mull, Iona, Jura and Staffa to name but a few and the buses and trains that go on a regular basis from the town centre let you explore Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fort William and all that’s in between for plenty of exciting days out.
